Fine machining and polishing are the main application fields of the
NAGEL tapefinishing attachment. It is used for single production and for
manufacturing small series. Mostly it is installed on lathes.
Main application is the fine machining and polishing of printing rollers,
rollers for manufacturing of foils, rubber rollers, valve levers, rollers
from photocopiers etc.
Method
A fine grit finishing tape is pressed pneumatically against the rotating
component surface by means of a contact roll. During the finishing
operation the contact roll oscillates parallel to the component surface
to create a cross hatch pattern structure. The oscillation is carried out
electromechanically. Microchips and fine abrasives particles are flushed
away with filtered honing / finishing oil.
